Abstract:

Administered the Personal Orientation Inventory (POI) to 52 undergraduates and the Parental Attitude Research Instrument to their mothers. Maternal attitude subscales which were correlated (significant rs ranged from .28-.50) with a number of POI subscales generally reflected willingness to talk to and share experiences with the child, and to listen to his problems.
